Quirky old-world charm permeates the hallways, furnished with original chandeliers that capture the character of the building. The enticing decor combines classic styles with a nod to the late 1980s, giving a unique vibe to the dining room.
Navigating the hotel can be tricky. I found the hallways to be labyrinthine with doors galore, and the elevator was a slow ride after lugging bags over several steps. Rooms, particularly the one I had, could benefit from a refresh—some areas felt worn out, and a lack of USB charging options was puzzling for a hotel with such history. Wi-Fi access became an issue as my iPhone required extra security steps, letting me in only after a trip to the front desk for guidance—definitely an odd experience.

We had a lovely stay at the hotel. It's just a short walk from the scenic walks around the River Tay, making it an ideal base for our family. The spacious family room with comfy beds was perfect for our needs, and the staff was friendly and attentive.
In my wife’s opinion, it would be great if the hotel offered more family-friendly dining options instead of just takeaway.

The historical ambiance is a highlight, with charming creaky floorboards and a room featuring a four-poster bed that exceeded expectations. Breakfast in a sloped dining room was well-organized and tasty, though parking was inconvenient as it was not available on-site.
